Rewilding the Axolotl

For Atmos, I wrote about the endangered Mexican salamander — the axolotl — and its remarkable abilities, plus the team tasked with rewilding the species in its native home of Lake Xochimilco. I found and researched the story, as well as spent time in the field interviewing both the local science community and the Indigenous people of Xochimilco.
